Female Members of Congress and the D.C. Press Corp to face-off again on Capitol Hill

Washington, D.C. (March 13, 2019) – On June 19, 2019, the Congressional Women’s Softball Game will put partisanship aside to raise awareness about cancer for the eleventh straight year. The annual game brings together women Members of Congress – Democrats and Republicans – to take on the women of the Washington, D.C. Press Corps. This year’s rosters will be announced this spring. Last year’s rosters are located here.

The Congressional Women’s Softball Game brings together Washington D.C.’s leaders to raise awareness and critical funds for the 12,000 young adults in the United States who are diagnosed with breast cancer each year. To date, CWSG has raised more than $1.3 million dollars for the Young Survival Coalition, the premier organization dedicated to young adults with breast cancer.

“This annual game provides women leaders of Washington an opportunity to unite around the important mission of beating cancer,” said Atalie Ebersole, President and Treasurer of the Congressional Women’s Softball Game. “We're so proud to be a positive force in Washington for a cause that is close to all of our hearts.”

“We are so grateful for this unique and family-friendly event which provides vital support to Young Survival Coalition (YSC) and our mission to provide resources, connections and empowerment to young adults affected by breast cancer,” said Jennifer Merschdorf, Survivor and CEO of Young Survival Coalition.

The Congressional Women’s Softball Game will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at Watkins Recreation Center, 420 12th Street, SE, Washington, DC 20003. Tickets are $10, and they can be purchased online starting over the next few weeks, or at the gate on game day.
