YSC Game Changers: Dr. Ann Partridge

YSC Game Changers: Dr. Ann Partridge

Dr. Partridge is one of the first researchers to focus on the needs of young women with breast cancer, and she remains a leading authority in this area today.  She continues to press the issues and needs of this understudied population. Under her leadership, Dana-Farber now has a Young and Strong program focused specifically on young women with breast cancer.  She was the Co-Chair of Young Survival Coalition’s Research Think Tank and continues to collaborate with YSC. We are honored to present Dr. Ann Partridge as one of the YSC Game Changers her work as a healthcare provider.

Ann Partridge - Game Changer

What inspires you in your work to support, empower or educate young women affected by breast cancer?
Seeing the work make a difference in individual women's lives.

What about your work for young women affected by breast cancer makes you most proud?
I am most proud when our work has potential impact on how a woman feels or how well she does in the short and long run, not only from a breast cancer standpoint but from an overall health and happiness perspective.

What are your hopes for the future, with regard to YSC and young breast cancer survivors?
I hope that YSC remains the voice of young women with breast cancer, brings young women together and communicates important and supportive information to them as well.

What is your message for YSC on its 20th anniversary?
Congratulations on a great first 20 years!  Wishing you all many, many more as you do great work!

About YSC and Game Changers
Young Survival Coalition was founded in 1998 by young women diagnosed with breast cancer under age 35.

YSC is made up of people: survivors, co-survivors, volunteers, donors, healthcare providers. Our strength comes from our community. So in our 20th year, we will honor our roots — the people who have helped build YSC into what it is today — and also look forward, recognizing those in our community who are changing the future of breast cancer in young women.

We are highlighting these individuals as Game Changers throughout 2018 and sharing their stories with the world to thank them for their contributions to our community.
