Meet Richard
Dr. Richard Korentager is the Chair of the Department of Plastic, Burn and Wound Surgery at the University of Kansas. He is a Professor of Plastic Surgery has a special interest in breast reconstruction, burn surgery, the management of skin cancer and cosmetic surgery including the treatment of patients after weight loss.
Originally from Toronto, Canada, he earned his medical degree at the University of Toronto and completed his Plastic Surgery Residency at the University of Toronto. He completed fellowships in Breast Reconstruction and Micronerve Surgery. He has been in practice since 1989 and is certified in plastic surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American Council of Academic Plastic Surgeon, the American Burn Association and the Society for Simulation in Healthcare.
Dr. Korentager is a published author on numerous medical topics related to plastic surgery. He has a special research interest in medical simulation in patient care and medical education. He has been featured on the Discovery Channel's ""Medical Miracles"" and has been called on by the media many times to comment as an expert on plastic surgery. He is regularly listed on the “Top Doc” lists in the Kansas City region as well as nationally for both reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgery.
