Meet Mary

Mary Ajango is the Director of Advocacy & Partnerships. She oversees YSC’s legislative and research advocacy initiatives including YSC’s advocacy training program RISE. She also builds and manages the relationships necessary to advance Project 528, YSC’s global needs assessment.

Mary has worked at YSC for nearly 10 years in several different roles, all focused on building relationships, engaging a diverse community and empowering volunteers to support young adults with breast cancer. She created a national network of volunteers to provide connection for young adults. She also helped design and launch RISE, an advocacy training program to create the next generation of trained breast cancer advocates.

Mary comes to YSC with a background in nonprofit management and public policy, where she developed a passion for the power of nonprofits to solve problems. When she’s not working you can find her in Indianapolis with her husband and two children, at a museum or with a book in hand.

Did You Know?

If I were a super-hero, my powers would be…

to create a world where love is everywhere.

In a movie about my life, I would be played by…

Melissa McCarthy. She is hilarious, and I’m quite certain if we met we would be instant besties.
