Dr. Rosara Torrisi, PhD is a licensed clinical social worker in New York State and an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist. She is a graduate of Barnard College, holds a Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University and a PhD from Widener University's Human Sexuality Program where she also received a Master of Education in Human Sexuality. Dr. Torrisi is an Our Whole Lives comprehensive sexuality education facilitator for youth, young adults, and adults. She is also the founder and president of the Long Island Institute of Sex Therapy (LIIST). Dr. Torrisi is recognized as a welcoming and kink aware therapist by the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom (NCSF) and is a recommended therapist by the Long Island LGBT Network.
Her research and clinical practice focuses on the overlaps of gender, sexual orientation, arousal and desire, chronic illness (specifically breast cancer), and education.
