Meet Donna
Dr. Donna Williams is Associate Professor with tenure at the Louisiana State University Health New Orleans School of Public Health in Behavioral and Community Health Sciences. In addition to two degrees in engineering, Dr. Williams received an MPH in Health Systems Management and a DrPH in Community Health Sciences from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. Dr. Williams has devoted in excess of twenty years to cancer prevention and control from working to establish breast cancer early detection programs in Louisiana’s public hospitals in the 1990’s to examining the role of home sampling for HPV in cervical cancer early detection and developing provider level interventions to increase colorectal cancer screening and HPV vaccination today. Dr. Williams has focused on populations underserved for healthcare and is particularly interested in reducing barriers for those populations through systems and policy change.
