Meet Devin
Devin Boerm currently lives in Washington, DC, where she works as a strategic advocacy and government affairs professional. In 2009, Devin was diagnosed with triple negative, BRCA 2 positive breast cancer at the age of 30. During this time, her professional life collided with her personal life as she encountered many of the challenges that young patients in the YSC community face.
Devin has been in the government affairs industry for 14 years and brings an in-depth knowledge of healthcare, education and appropriations policy as well as expertise in navigating the legislative processes to effect change. With Devin’s expertise in advocacy, her diagnosis propelled her into refocusing professional energy into more health care related policy and lobbying. She has a keen awareness of how to accomplish both the broader mission and corresponding tasks while putting the strategic pieces together. Devin has a reputation for rallying stakeholders, finding commonalities and recognizing potential outcomes.
Devin is currently a State Leader in the Washington, DC Metro area and has been a volunteer for several YSC related activities. She rode in the 2012 East Coast TdP; organized survivors at the Congressional Women’s Softball Game for the last 6 years; participated in the In Living Pink 2016 photo shoot; and gave a webinar on the complexities of the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) after passage.
Devin holds a masters degree in public administration and a bachelors degree in business.
