Krissy Diagnosed at age 34

"I was 34 years old when I discovered a lump in May 2004 by accident."

Krissy

On September 8, 2004 I was sitting in Dr. Tootle's office when I was given what felt like a death sentence: "I'm so sorry. You have cancer." I had over a hundred things running through my head in a second: Will I live to see my children graduate from high school? Will I live to meet my grandchildren? Will I live to see beautiful wrinkles on my face? There were so many things that went through my head in what was the longest day of my life.

Here I am, 10 years later on September 8, 2014. And what a journey it's been! My kids have graduated from high school. I have a granddaughter, and am hoping to have some more soon. And yes, I got the opportunity to see beautiful wrinkles develop on my face. :) Life...is full of surprises!

I've been blessed and am extremely grateful for my three beautiful children. I'm also blessed to have the family and friends that I have. I love you all!

To all the young women out there, please know this: there's HOPE!

Are you a survivor, spouse, friend, or caretaker with a story to tell? We'd love to hear from you.
