Brooke Diagnosed at age 36
I was 36 years old when my youngest child ran into me. After that, I noticed a lump that was prominent, and I set an appointment to get checked. My whole world turned around when they gave me the diagnosis of stage IV breast cancer.
I went through months of different chemo treatments and then eventually had a bilateral mastectomy taking lymph nodes as well. That was followed by 2 months of radiation every day except for weekends. We now follow up every 3 months with scans and bloodwork.
My oldest at 10 years old still has some anger issues because she was the most observant of what was going on. I am thankful for my husband who did everything along with holding a full-time job. He made everything as normal as could be for our daughters.
