There are many things you can do to help young women in your community whose lives have been impacted by a breast cancer diagnosis. So, spread the word and make a difference!

Educate Others:

• Ask your library to stock the book about young women with breast cancer, "Fighting For Our Future" by Beth Murphy, in addition to YSC brochures. To order materials, click here.
• Contact a local high school or college and coordinate a breast health seminar, with a special focus on young women and breast cancer.
• Bring YSC brochures to your local merchants and ask them to display the materials.
• Talk about the YSC to everyone wherever you go - you just never know who you are going to meet or impact!

Share Your Story:

• Contact your local newspaper and pitch a story about the YSC and your own experience with breast cancer.
• Write about your experience with breast cancer and submit it to the YSC website for posting.

Enlist your local hospital or breast cancer organization:

• As part of our Adopt A Hospital Program, bring YSC brochures to the offices of your surgeon, primary care doctor, OB/GYN, oncologist, etc.
• Contact your local hospital to put together a program on young women and breast cancer.
• Volunteer at your doctor's office to talk to other recently diagnosed young women.
• Work with a breast health organization or hospital to create a support group for young women with breast cancer.
• Locate other breast health organizations in your local area. Send them YSC brochures and meet with them about our common goals.

Fundraise:

• Talk to your company about becoming a corporate sponsor of the YSC.
• Ask if your company has a corporate giving or foundation program, so that the YSC can apply for funding.

Advocate:

• Attend your state's Lobby Day.
•  Encourage other young survivors to become YSC constituents so that our collective voice will be stronger and more effective.
• Increase your advocacy skills by attending the National Breast Cancer Coalition Advocacy Training seminar in Washington, DC in May of each year.
