"'You're too young for breast cancer' my doctor told me in a most confident tone when I pointed out a lump in my right breast. But, he was wrong."

Perhaps you know someone who has spoken these words. Perhaps you've said them yourself. These and other powerful words and insights come from the pages of our Survivor Stories. Written by members of the YSC community, these stories are personal and inspiring reflections from courageous young women who are surviving breast cancer as well as remembrances of women written by their friends and loved ones.

The stories are meant to inspire and bring together a community of young women affected by breast cancer, their friends, family members and caregivers. If you are a survivor, or if you know someone whose story you would like to share, please submit a story. If you have any questions about or problems submitting a story, please write to stories@youngsurvival.org.

You can search for stories by age or if you prefer a more specific search (e.g. "tram-flap reconstruction" or "HER-2/neu"), use the advanced search option.
